We love it when schools really take advantage of the offerings we've built. We knew when we launched our bookstore in 2022, that we needed to offer something different. Something unique. Something special.
We knew that we had tens of thousands of parents, carers, teachers and school librarians who valued our reading recommendations, and that we were their go-to for trusted book reviews and helping them find the next favourite book for the children in their life.
But we wanted to do more. Be more. Offer more. And so our bookstore with social purpose was born.
Since then we have continued to develop and enhance our offer. Keeping all of the great stuff. The editorially curated selections, the reviews, the opening extracts, the reading lists. And we've added tons more.
In case you missed it, when you buy from our bookstore, you automatically get 10% off RRPs, plus you have the ability to donate 25% of your spend to a school close to your heart. At no extra cost to you. Yes, 25%. Or, you can choose to donate to schools in need via our Funding Scheme for Schools with disadvantage. This has so far enabled us to donate over £75,000 worth of free books to schools.
Over 14,000 schools are members of our LoveReading4Schools platform and regularly utilise the tools, content, information and funding opportunities that we provide.
One such school is Stanion CofE Primary School in Kettering, Northamptonshire. Last year their Christmas Reading Gift Initiative ensured they were kindly gifted over 35 books from their parents and carers and 60 books from their PTFA, whilst also benefiting from the 25% cashback that they then used to purchase further books throughout the year for their children. A win:win for them and the school. they were so delighted with the outcome, that they are again utilising LoveReading4Kids as a partner this Christmas.
"This year we have used the LoveReading4Kids option to send out a link for donations, rather than buy an actual book, which we can then use to purchase more books. The link was set up automatically for us and easy for parents to use.
We understand that Christmas can be financially a difficult time for families and kindly asked parents to consider a donation for reading materials, rather than a gift for teachers and staff. We would like to give back to the children. The donation page allows families to donate any amount they wish and there is an option for them to write a message. Dedication plates will be placed in the books once purchased."
It is so wonderful to see schools being creative in their partnership with LoveReading4Kids and benefitting from the funding opportunities that we provide.
