The winner of the 2024 (Incomplete) Lit in Colour Play List competition has been announced: congratulations to English teacher Matthew Ingram!

Matthew’s chosen play for this year’s list is seven methods of killing kylie jenner by Jasmine Lee-Jones which becomes the first play chosen for the 2025 Play List.

As part of the award, a bundle of play texts is now on its way to Matthew, who shared, “Working in a large school with students from all over the world, it’s really important that our students see things from as many perspectives as possible. Having these plays available in school will be a huge step towards achieving that. Thank you so much!”

The (Incomplete) Lit in Colour Play List celebrates powerful plays by writers of colour, curated for students aged 11–18 and beyond. It began in response to a simple but significant question posed by a teacher during a webinar in 2021:

“Can you recommend a play by a writer of colour?”

That moment sparked a new collaboration between Bloomsbury and the Lit in Colour campaign, founded by Penguin Books and the Runnymede Trust. A 2022 study highlighted the need for better support and more resources to help teachers diversify the drama texts they teach. The Play List aims to meet that need.
