CLPE are recruiting Primary Schools to take part in an Education Endowment Fund Research trial, evaluating the impact of our Power of Reading training and resources on Year 5 pupils’ writing. This trial will engage 140 state maintained schools across England and the Power of Reading programme will be delivered by the team at the CLPE and independently evaluated by a dedicated research team at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Who can take part in the CLPE's Research Trial?
The CLPE are looking for 140 Primary Schools to take part in the controlled trial. 70 schools will be randomly chosen to participate in the heavily subsidised training that will be delivered in Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham in the new academic year 2025 – 2026 and the remaining 70 schools will function as 'control' schools. These 70 control schools will receive £500 and 20% off future participation in Power of Reading training, as a thank you for taking part.
