This novel is perfect for children learning about WWII

When a plane crashes near his home, Peter and Kim scramble inside, hoping to find something interesting to keep. They find a German pistol and an injured hungry airman.

Fearless and brave, they hide him, away from the Home Guard and village. With his dad away Peter already has a lot of weight on his shoulders.

However, like young heroes, Peter and Kim persevere and continue to care for the man, keeping him away from rivals.

This novel is perfect for children learning about WWII or interested minds dying to know more about 1941 in Newcastle. Dan Smith paints a wonderful friendship between Kim and Peter, sure to melt children’s hearts.

An amazing action packed book about World War Two

It’s World War Two and twelve year old Peter’s life turns upside down when his da is sent to war. When a plane crashes near Peter’s home he sprints over to see if he can find anything intriguing.

Soon after Peter meets a lass with whom he works together to find souvenirs. Upon their adventure, they encounter bullies and sergeants who they have to fight through.

Whilst a parachutist is on the loose, Peter and his friend try to find the parachutist but soon realise it’s the enemy. Can they trust each other?

Set in 1941 in North East England, My Friend The Enemy is an amazing action packed book about World War Two. The two main characters encounter bossy and irritating parents who always mess up their plans. The book has some violence and can be quite gruesome at times for some. It’s a great class reader, especially if you’re learning about World War Two at school because there is a lot of good vocabulary inside. I would recommend it for people keen on history and war.

It's 1941. A German aircraft has crashed near Peter’s home. He rushes over looking for something to keep but what he instead finds is a young man.

Peter is a dutiful boy. He obeys his Mam and Dad, until war breaks out and one day an aircraft crashed a few feet from him. A crowd gathers among the scene and he meets a girl called Kim.

Meanwhile a soldier is injured and can't continue the war. He has been seeing Peter’s mam A LOT recently. Peter really dislikes him but at the end of the war he realises how much he had done for him and Mam.

This book is great for confident young readers. The best time to read this book is between Year 6 and Year 7. This book falls in the action and adventure category.

A thriller and a good read for children interested war or learning about World War Two

It’s World War Two and the main character 12 year old Peter is close to being smashed by a german plane, a luftwaffe, which crashes to the ground and is smothered in flames but there's one german left who got out of the plane in time and by flying a way with a parachute into the woods and is now on the run.

While Peter’s da is at war Peter’s mam is at home and is being accompanied by a man called Mister Bennett who likes Peter’s mam.

This book is a thriller and a good read for children interested war or learning about World War Two. I enjoyed this book it has a bit of romance, action, drama and cliff hangers. There are 27 chapters and each one has something amazing or cool to add to the story.

This book is very nice and I recommend it to eleven/ten to fourteen year olds as it does includes gunshots sometimes but is really good.
