Maisie vs Antarctica

I Absolutely loved it! It is great book and impossible to put down.

I loved the style of writing because the storyline was easier to follow than some of my other books I’ve got at home. It was thrilling and impossible to put down. When I first got it I curled up on the sofa and started reading. I loved the part where they crashed into Antarctica. I also loved Maisie’s personality. I’d recommend it to all my friends and I’m sure that they’d love it to.

A great adventure that I completely lost track of time reading as it great!

This is a really exciting adventure with unexpected twists. I completely lost track of time reading this as I got so caught up in the story right from the very beginning. Maisie lives with her dad as her mum died when she was a baby, and she thinks that nothing exciting ever happens, that all that happens is that she does 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles until her dad agrees to take her on a trip to Antarctica for research for his new book. When the plane crash lands, the adventures (and strange happenings) begin. I loved all the information on Antarctica and Maisie was a great character who I liked. I really enjoyed reading this.

I really enjoyed this book. It made me laugh.

I really enjoyed this book. It made me laugh. The book is about a girl called Maisie who goes to Antarctica with her dad. I really liked Maisie and wanted to have an adventure like her. She made me think that I was a lot like her because I love writing and so does she. Maisie has a boring dad who likes to do endless jigsaws and correct train timetables. He also writes books about things that he never had time to do. But then Maisie realise something that makes her dad really exciting. He has a power. And that she has inherited it. She begins to realise just how much she can do with it. I thought this book was exciting and creative.

As I read the book it felt like I was watching it at the cinema.

Foreword by Dad
Penny read this book independently over the course of just a couple of days. She loves reading and is currently into the Isadora Moon series. She was delighted to have the opportunity to be involved in this book preview.

Penny’s Review
As I read the book it felt like I was watching it at the cinema. It felt very real.
The characters were very creative and imaginative. I think Maisie was the best character of them all.
It felt dangerous, but in a good way.
Some children might not think that they will like it because there are no pictures but when they read it, they might change their minds. I could imagine the characters in my head they were so interesting and real like a retelling of life.
I think the person who wrote the book put a lot of thought into it. I think children like me will enjoy it a lot. I loved reading about Halley, it was very interesting.
I liked how Maisie learnt how to stop time from her dad without even knowing it, although I thought about how the mum would’ve died, I think the person who wrote it should put about how she did I think it would be very interesting, I feel like there’s a bit missing without it.
I love the book so much it was out of this world, I’ve never read anything like it before it’s the best book ever. I like the way it ended, it was amazing.

Full of magical mystery and adventure. Follow Maisie in her adventure with her dad to research his newest book. Adventure and fun throughout.

This is a magical book, it starts with Maisie thinking her dad is boring and the thing he does just have no interest to her. But he writes book that are full of fun and adventure.
When the babysitter cancels Maisie is made to go along with her dad to Antarctica where he is researching his newest book.
To say it’s not the boring trip she feared is an understatement.
It’s full of magic, mystery and adventure.
The book is well written with wit and humor throughout.
Enjoyable and has something for all age readers.

There's an adventure to go on and a mystery to solve in Maisie vs Antarctica. This book is great for mystery, adventure and magic lovers. I'd rate this book a four because I really enjoyed the magic involved. I'd also say this is a book for ages eight and up because of the Leopard Seal and other parts of the book. Overall, it's a great book!

Maisie vs Antarctica is a great book all about a girl who has a father who writes books that have exciting sounding titles like 'How to Wrestle a Crocodile.' Yet, the book itself is actually boring and Maisie thinks her dad is boring too. Furthermore, Maisie is certain her dad hasn't actually done anything he writes about. But when she ends up crash landing in Antarctica for her dad's next book, things begin to change. Maisie's sure she hadn't seen dad's backpack on the plane, but it suddenly appears. And she's certain dad couldn't have saved her in time from the jaws of a man-eating Leopard Seal. This can only mean one thing: dad can teleport.

There's an adventure to go on and a mystery to solve in Antarctica and Maisie's determined to find out what dad's hiding from her. This book is great for lovers of mystery, adventure and magic. I'd rate this book a four because I really enjoyed the magic involved.
I'd say this book is for ages eight and up because of the Leopard Seal and certain other slightly scary parts of the book. Overall, it's a great book!

Maisie vs Antarctica is really good, very fun and an interesting story. Maisie's dad seems boring but is he more exciting that Maisie knows? Amazing!

When Maisie asks her dad to let her go to Antartica with him she doesn't expect a planecrash. How will they ever be rescued?

Can Maisie's dad save them? This fun and interesting story has a really exciting secret. Is Maisie's dad a superhero? Why are there so many igloos? How did Kat and Nathan find out where they were? Will they ever get back home?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book written by Jack Jackman. In my opinion it was one of the best adventures I've ever been on!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book written by Jack Jackman. In my opinion it was one of the best adventures I've ever been on! Jack described it so beautifully that I had a picture in my head the whole way through. The idea of setting it in Antarctica was ideal. I also liked that Masie had ginger hair as I also have red hair. My rating would be 10/10, 100% and 5 stars. Thank you for writing this book.
