The Whisperling

This book is amazing; it is full of vivid descriptions, spookiness and lots of adventure! Combined with the mysterious streets of 1835 England, this book is the ultimate read!

This book has got to be one of my favourites this year. Hayley Hoskins writes in a way that is interesting, interactive and immersive. The book will send shivers down your spine as you read it, especially the first part. You will get lost in the complicated world of twelve-year-old Peggy Devona as she battles through friendship problems, evil foes and some seriously scary spirits!

The book explores themes of ghosts, friendship and family love all throughout. Hayley Hoskins entwines these themes into her story in such a vivid, concise way that this book is one of those books that you just can not put down!

I loved the spooky book and couldn’t put it down.

The story begins with Peggy Devona, her best friend Sally. Peggy is a whisperling, she can speak to the dead. It is set in 1897.
The book is Victorian and there are a lot of ghosts around.
Peggy kept her whispering a secret.
I loved the spooky book and couldn’t put it down.
