Small's Big Dream

A truly delightful read

Amanda Quartey has used a beautiful palette of colours in this book to suggest exploring moods, feelings and dreams. Some great places in the text for interaction from the emerging readers too when they can shout out "Small!" and "Head down and feet on the ground!" Manjeet Mann gives a wonderful lesson about not giving up on your dreams; it's truly a delightful read. I'd recommend this to the 5-8 years age range but everyone can enjoy the inspirational advice within.  A five star hit!

A beautiful, brightly illustrated story about a small girl with dreams so big they just won't go away!

Ethan loved the story of the Small girl with her Big dreams! He was captivated by the beautiful, brightly coloured illustrations and all the rainbows. His favourite part was when Small's dreams take her into outer space and she meets other people with Big dreams, like her! The book provoked interesting discussions about what Ethan's dreams were and how he might go about following his dreams, now and in the future. We have read this book together several times already and I think this is set to be a firm favourite in the years to come!

This book is great. It is about a small girl named Small and she has a big dream to become an astronaut.

This book is amazing. It is about a girl named Small who has a small room in a small house. She has big dreams but everyone tells her to keep her head and and feet on the ground. Everyone tells her that she can’t do it because those who have a small life can’t have big dreams.

The illustrations by Amanda Quartey are so vibrant and draw you more into the story.

What a lovely book. My son loves it and always asks me to read it to him. He likes to look at the pictures. It is very easy to read and understand and it is very educational and helpful. We love the story.

This book is wonderful and very educational. My son truly likes to unfold the pages and to look at the pictures. He always asks me to read it to him. The book itself is clear, easy to understand and very magical and real at the same time. It is helpful and educational. It gives a great example.

Being small means nothing at all. You can dream big and be big no matter who you are.

I like the book a lot. I have read it a lot of times with Mummy. Small is small and has everything small but can be big when she wants. Just because she is small it doesn't mean she has to be small forever. In the book it says the word small a lot of times which I found funny. I am small now but I can dream big and be big just like Small.
