The Forevers is the type of book you only really have to pick up once. The plot drives along each page, so there isn't enough time to get bored- it's amazing how many secrets can be uncovered within the span of the book, and how much can take place before the significant event of the world ending. It gets you to think, was it all even worth it if they're just going to get wiped away in the end?

The depth of each discovery is also quite astonishing: each character has been thoroughly thought out. You can tell that in the book because whatever happens, if you were to add that to what had already been established, it still makes sense.
It was a pleasure to read this book- I think that many others will agree with me and enjoy is just as much as I have, due to the fast-paced, yet still thoughtful, and all-in-all, balanced attention-grabbing plot.
The Forevers follows the main character of Mae, found insufferable by some and admired by others. I loved her take on the world through poetic philosophy at parts.
The plot itself is an ideal balance of events. We have comedic sides, romance, mystery, the thoughts of characters, even a dark side, which would have been too much if not accompanied by the laughs thrown in. They are teenagers after all!
The author created a strong sense of atmosphere, with many delightful scenes, though limited to one place which is the magic of it all. He orchestrated hundreds of different moods, using the church, the beach, a cave or the graveyard as his background, which transfer onto the reader as they follow the journey.
