Andria is a firm believer in the arts as a leveller in education and champions the arts as key to supporting students to find their voice and often to find their way. This was a particularly poignant as I was reading it during the week that the Government proposed cutting HE funding for many arts courses. Zafirakou is not afraid to write about the detriment she believes students and young people face if arts subjects are not freely available to them.

An interesting read for all those in education, giving an insight into the challenges, rewards and satisfaction teachers experience throughout their careers as well as drawing attention to the positive outcomes associated with the arts.
