This is an excellent book filled with chaos and turmoil as Torak risks everything to save the whole world. I had never read Michelle Paver's books before but as soon as I finished Skin Taker, I was desperate to read more of her work.
This is an excellent book filled with chaos and turmoil as Torak risks everything to save the whole world. As demons begin to thrive, yet again the clans battle for survival. Though the Victor will have nothing if they do not unite.
I had never read Michelle Paver's books before but as soon as I finished Skin Taker, I was desperate to read more of her work. She has a specific style of writing that entrances the reader and really makes you're feel like you're part of it. I loved the attention to nature and its creatures as you will notice entwined in the story.
My favourite part was when Torak spirit walked. I liked this part because he was so brave.
All in all this book contains all of the elements of a great story, for me they are realism, tension, and creative plot.
It’s really good to be back in this world again and join the characters in their next adventure. This story is about a major event which affects all the clans, will they be able to survive?
I really like the Wolf Brother series. We read the first one together at school and that’s how I got into them.
I like the way that Michelle Paver writes. Sometimes it’s not in full sentences but I think that helps with the speed and the mood of the story.
Throughout this series I have learnt lots of things about how people lived at this time and the different challenges that they face. I adore Wolf and wish he was my pack brother. I like it when the writing is from his point of view and the way he describes different things, like the ice and snow. I think Michelle works really hard at researching and helping us to feel the way the characters are feeling. I love the magical spirit Walker side of these stories as well.
This is a great story about a huge comet crashing to earth and causing devastation for the clans. At the same time there is an eclipse, which the clans don’t understand really. They have to perform a special rite in order to save them all and bring the green tree back.
This is a great book and kept me turning the pages. You can read this book as it is, but I would recommend everyone read the whole Wolf Brother series.
Having read all the books in the series previously, I was already familiar with the lives of Torak, Renn and Wolf but this adventure was brought to the next level.
When the thunderstar strikes and the forest gets destroyed Torak, Renn and Wolf have to find the four sacred crystals to bring back the first tree (Northern Lights) to restore peace to the chaotic land. A supposedly dead enemy returns to the deep forest and begins to assemble their army of “Chosen Ones” striking fear into the hearts of the remaining members of the deep forest clans. Torak, Renn and Wolf will face challenges that they have come across before in this wonderful, beautifully written and beautifully illustrated tale.
This book is a novel to be cherished, treasured and loved by every young generation to come.
I found this book to be really unique in the focus within the plot. The mix of historic and fictional aspects blended really well and throughout the book, you never quite knew where it would take you.
I found this book to be really unique in the focus within the plot. I particularly enjoyed the time the book was set in and the author really reflected how people lived in those times. The mix of historic and fictional aspects blended really well and throughout the book, you never quite knew where it would take you. The plot is based around the natural threat of meteor strikes and follows Torak, Wolf, and Renn's struggle to save the world as they know it. But with their limited knowledge of what had happened to the forest, they knew and loved and the dark forces that were at work. The odds seem against them.
A spectacular book with an amazing storyline filled with mystery and adventures.
Skin Taker is a fabulous fiction book with story based in the Stone age. I liked how the character's point of view flips in the story. It is about the forest villagers whose shelter has been destroyed in the natural disasters and the movement that had happened earlier on. Forced to leave everything behind, the forest villagers go on unexpected adventures and discover various things. There are clans who have been separated during these times and are all trying to find solutions to there problems.
Reading this book, I realised that it is really hard to put it down whilst reading and the tension that is created when you want to really know what happens next is indescribable.
In my opinion, this is a spectacular book and I would truly suggest trying out this book, especially if you have interests in fantasy, adventure and fiction books.
