Rebecca Sheerin - Illustrator

Rebecca Sheerin is an illustrator and storyteller based in Edinburgh. Her pictures are bright and playful. She works in sections, making small paintings with gouache and powder inks and then later adds all the fine details with coloured pencil and crayons. She then composes the sections together digitally, drawing on her iPad and collaging in handmade textures. She is also a keen printmaker. She enjoys switching on her riso brain, thinking in black and white layers. She's found this has influenced all her image creation and helped develop her style of rich colours, very textural with lots of fine details.

Rebecca is originally from West Yorkshire but has made her home in sunny Leith, Scotland, close to where she studied BA (hons) Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art - The University of Edinburgh. She works from her studio at Abbeymount, Out of The Blue.
