Andrew Gardner - Illustrator

A life-long doodler with a love of silly humour, Japanese culture and fantasy creatures. Andrew has always had passion for both drawing & storytelling, and after over a decade working as a designer & art director he decided to pursue a long-held goal; to illustrate children's books.

He'd always dabbled in illustration throughout his creative career, but it was kickstarted after a fantastic week in rural Spain as a student at Picturecamp in 2016. He then attended the Bologna Children's Book Fair (in 2017 & 2018) where he learnt the fundamentals of the children's publishing industry, but also how to best adapt his work and  improve his artwork style to achieve his goals.

Since 2018 he has illustrated several early reader & educational titles. He also illustrated his first trade picture book, The Pipsqueak.

He balances his illustration work with his current day-job as Senior Art Director at Amazon, London.
