This is a wonderful 21-page children’s book. Each page has 2 lines of rhyming text and a lovely, cheerful illustration. I love how the author brings in all the relevant topics that young children need to learn at school. All the topics are brought into the story so cleverly and the flow of the book is seamless. Some of the learning points include our 5 senses, shapes, interacting with friends, drawing, painting, glueing, using glitter to make creative pictures, music, and moving around. I love the piano keys decorating the top of one of the pages. Smiling, laughing, and sharing toys are depicted. Playing games and moving around are also among the activities highlighted. Birds and insects are brought in as well as the famous alphabet song. The important skill of counting is mentioned. The author also shows readers the joy of using their imagination to play their own made-up games. The book encourages children to talk about their school day and remember what they have learnt and also to share their experiences. It reinforces all the new skills they are learning in a fun, holistic way. This is a useful resource to help make school and learning fun and non-threatening. I highly recommend it!
