A funny story about a pig who won’t stop eating. ‘When Pig Got Stuck in the Trough’ by Dave Thorne tells the story of the greedy Dougie, who’s appetite leads to him getting stuck in the feeding trough. A part of the Wobblebottom Farm Series, this book is nicely illustrated by Kris Lillyman, with clean and bright pictures of Dougie and all of the animals in the farm as they try to get him out of the trough. I’m sure younger readers will love to see what all the different animals are up to on each page. The story is told in rhyme throughout although I found some sections flowed a bit more than others. In all I found this to be a humorous animal story with a message about sharing contained within the colourful pages.
