The Promised One is a perfect way to introduce children to the Easter story. Words and pictures describe the events from Palm Sunday to the Resurrection simply but clearly and offer lots of opportunity for questions and discussion. The illustrations contrast the drama with quiet moments, the shock and devastation felt by Jesus’ friends with final scenes of peace and joy. ~Andrea Reece
Let Antonia Woodward's beautiful retelling take young children aged 3 to 5 years back to the heart of the very first Easter.Jesus made sick people well, made food for thousands, and cared for the lonely and the needy. He was like no one else, and the people believed the Promised One - God-on-earth - had arrived. Others were not so sure. But God always has a plan. This is the story of God's plan, and how Jesus came for everyone, everywhere, for all time. This colourful and softly illustrated picture book is a perfect bedtime book for reading during Easter or for sharing with a group of children from Palm Sunday to Ascension.
Antonia Woodward graduated in 2007 with a first class BA (Hons) degree in illustration and since then has illustrated for picture books, children's magazines, wedding invitations, logo design, website design, and hand-lettered typography. She even designed the logo for her illustration agency! When she was little, Antonia made everything into miniature books just so she could hold the world's tiniest book in her hand.
