This picture book aims to raise awareness of the impact that cancer can have on an individual and their family in a child-friendly and supportive way. It is aimed at 4-11 year olds and has been inspired and informed by people with lived experiences of cancer. Through rhyme and engaging illustrations this book hopes to start conversations about cancer, in order to help relieve anxieties that children might have about someone close to them who may be living with cancer.
The MY HAS series of books aims to help children to understand a range of long-term health conditions whilst promoting an inclusive and diverse society.
'It is a beautiful book that brings light to a cancer diagnosis from a child's perspective. It is practical and informative and encourages children to talk and be open, which is brilliant.' - Karen Holt - Palliative Care Nurse Specialist;
'We had the privelege of reading this fantastic book whilst Aurora was preparing for her bone marrow transplant. It was lovely to read together, informative and so child-friendly. The illustrations showed a real sense of diversity, which was fabulous to see too.'- Keisha Pile-Grey - Oncology Mum;
'The book is fantastically written and illustrated. It simplifies the understanding of cancer for young people and highlights some side effects of treatments and changes that people living with cancer may experience.' - Mrs S.B. Howard - WHS RGN
