Apart from when he’s relaxing in a bath, or reading the newspaper, Alexander’s Daddy is always rushing about, always “running somewhere”, prompting Mummy to joke that maybe Daddy has ants in his pants. When Mummy wonders whether the same is true of Alexander, his baby sister, and her globe-trotting sister, he embarks on a confusing quest to discover the truth - he can’t see any ants in his own pants or in his sister’s pyjamas, so “Where were they?” he wonders.
With lots of visual details to enjoy, Fransie Frandsen’s Do Daddies Have Ants in their Pants?, part of the quirky Alexander’s Questions series, delivers a package of absurd humour and talking points sparked by both the words and pictures.
