LoveReading4Kids Says
December 2022 Book of the Month
This lively picture book should make school drop-offs lots more fun! The format is simple but effective: a cheerful meerkat riffs on, ‘See you later, Alligator’ to deliver unique rhyming goodbyes to lots of other animals.
We’re treated to, ‘Gotta wander, Anaconda’ to ‘Too-da-loo, Kangaroo’ and ‘Squisharilla, Caterpillar.’ In all, just under 100 animal feature, all attractively illustrated by Carolyn Dinan, whether in the forest, at the beach or on the plains.
It’s very satisfying to read aloud, but should encourage everyone to join in and create their own special farewell sign-offs – a game that could run and run, developing word-power and creativity along the way.
See You Alligator is available to buy at woodenbooks.com for £6.95.
