About Marjoke Henrichs
Marjoke Henrichs was born in The Netherlands, but has lived and worked in the UK as an artist and theatre Designer for many years, she has also worked in a Montessori school.
In 1995 Marjoke took part in the UK theatre design entry which won the Gold Medal at the Prague Quadrennial. Recently, she designed the set for Little Red Riding Hood, a children’s show for Northern Ballet.
Marjoke paints semi abstract landscapes on large canvases at Butley Mills Studios close to where she lives on the Suffolk Coast.
After her two children had grown up, Marjoke studied for an MA in children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art and graduated in February 2019 with a distinction.
Marjoke's debut picture book No! Said Rabbit was published by Scallywag Press and translated into 10 languages. The sequel ‘Ready!' Said Rabbit came out in spring 2022. Currently she is working on her third book, and many others are taking form in her head, with her children, the dog and the cat being great inspirations!
