About Cathy Maclennan
Born in Zimbabwe, Cathy MacLennan is
inspired by African art and culture. She grew up painting on any surface she could
find: paper, wood, fabric, rocks – even doors and walls! Cathy studied fashion,
textile design and photography and went on to become a commercial
photographer. In recent years she has worked as a mural and trompe l’oeil
artist, creating large-scale artworks on the walls and ceilings of many
different spaces.
Cathy is the creator of the highly
acclaimed Chicky Chicky Chook Chook;
Monkey Monkey Monkey and Spooky Spooky Spooky. She writes,
illustrates, designs and creates in a studio at the bottom of her garden,
inspired by the plants and wildlife that surround her.
