What is every small child’s greatest wish? A pet dog to issue orders to and more playtime with Dad. If My Dad Were A Dog is a hilarious and playful exploration of what would happen if both wishes came true!It will have your child and his or her dad in absolute stitches so why not get it as a joint present this Father’s Day. Kids will have great fun playing together with dad all day long but best of all the kids will be able to tell dad what to do all day long as well once they’ve read this delightful picture book!!! Lovely rhyming text is coupled together with some wonderfully vibrant imagery that mixes photo-montage with bold illustrations – marvellous.
If my Dad were a dog, just for a day, I'd tell him to sit and I'd tell him to stay... What would you do if your dad were a dog for a day? Imagine the fun you'd have; playing together all day long and, best of all, telling him to do what he is told.
Annabel Tellis, author of If My Dad Were a Dog, was born in 1967 and now divides her time between Victoria, Australia and Leicestershire, England. She grew up in a small village called Swepstone near Ashby-de-la-Zouch. After school she studied Engish and PE at Christchurch College in Canterbury, then did teacher training at Loughborough University. (In between that she worked in the Royal Household at Balmoral Castle as a dining room assistant.)
The books she would most like to have written include Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown and The Tiger who Came to Tea by Judith Kerr. Her advice for would be authors is to ‘treat writing and illustrating as a craft that requires time and never give up.’ Annabel is currently working on a new children's fiction series for The Chicken House.
