About Derek Keilty
Derek Keilty is the author of more than fourteen books for children, one of which was selected for the Richard and Judy Kids’ book club in 2012 and shortlisted for the Children’s Books Ireland Book of the Year. Derek was born in Belfast where he still lives with his wife, Elaine, and twin daughters. Derek divides his time between writing and taking storytelling and creative writing workshops to schools and libraries.
Will Gallows and the Snake-Bellied Troll was Derek’s debut novel for children although previously, he had published several educational books. He began writing in 2000 as a new millennium resolution and hasn’t looked back.
