When the penguins set up a club it's one that George the giraffe can't join because he's neither black and white, nor white or black. Feeling left out and unloved he comes up with a cunning plan to create his own club that's more inclusive. What ensues is a wonderful story of friendship with plenty of opportunities for the reader to spot and name lots of different animals who join George's club. We’ve all belonged to a club at one stage or another and we know how cliquey they can be. Well poor George the Giraffe wants to be part of the Black and White Club but there is a slight problem... he’s not black or white (or black and white). With his cute bow tie, who wouldn’t want him in their club? So George has to come up with a plan, which makes everyone happy. George is definitely one of my favourite picture book characters and I would have him in my club anytime!
