Ceri Worman was Carrie Bright’s original name - her name change was partly because no one could pronounce it. Carrie is obvious to pronounce on sight and similar to her real name, whilst Bright is a family name. Ceri was born in Wales but moved to England at the age of three. Her family originally moved to Oxford but when Ceri was seven they settled in South Yorkshire. After gaining a History degree from Hull University, Ceri worked as a librarian for various London libraries, where her "broad northern accent" was ironically mocked! After a stint as an English teacher in south London, Ceri moved, with her young son to South America. When her son became especially fluent in Spanish swearwords, Ceri decided it was time to return to England. They settled back in South Yorkshire and Ceri began to write her first children's book, The Adventures of Jamie B, Superspy, based, in part, on her son, Marcus, now an adventurous teenager.
