Gertie's day starts with a frown which no-one can shift until she meets a cheeky monkey who (literally) turns her world upside down! Now she can cheer everyone up with her infectious smile. A read-out-loud gem from the winner of the Roald Dahl Funny Prize.
Gertie wakes up in a grump and sets out to tell everyone about it. After making the cheerful sun, flowers and fish thoroughly miserable, she feels no better. But when a cheeky monkey teaches her that by turning upside-down her frown turns to a smile, she makes a new friend.
