Delightful and distinctive retro artwork and stylish typography has helped to create a hugely appealing picture book featuring Mr Peek, the zoo keeper, his son Jimmy and the case of the wrong jacket. Likely to be the first of many featuring these two characters. Full of humour and a lightness of touch.
Mr Peek And The Misunderstanding At The Zoo Synopsis
Everyday, Mr Peek puts on his favourite jacket and sets off on his rounds, but this particular morning something is amiss. Mr Peek feels it… the animals feel it… and very soon, the whole zoo is headed for a serious misunderstanding.
Selected as a Booktrust Best New Illustrator of 2011.
Kevin Waldron loves to draw animal characters, so when his sketchbook became a paper zoo, he created Mr Peek to take care of them all. Mr Peek’s Zoo was soon rather cramped in the sketchbook so Kevin released them all in his first ever picture book. With an MA in illustration from Kingston University, Kevin now lives in London. He enjoys cycling to work everyday at the studio he shares with other illustrators. He was chosen as one of the Booktrust Best New Illlustrators of 2011.
