Dogs! Big, small, happy, yappy, leaping, peeping, they’re all here and scampering across the pages, tails mostly wagging. It makes for a wonderfully lively reading experience, the catchy rhyming text adding to the fun and though there’s no real narrative, just a parade of pooches, we see and feel a story in every doggy portrait. Nicola Kent’s loose, watercolour illustrations are perfect too – look out for the fingerprint patches on the ‘to and froing dog’ chasing sticks and balls. Any young child will love sharing this book but dog lovers will be in heaven.
