There are seven sparkling new fairy stories in this lovely collection, all starring a young girl called Bibi and her trusty companion, Sylvestro, a big, black, talking cat.

The adventures begin when Bibi, much to her surprise, meets an old woman in the top room of the house she and her mother are just moving into. This is Miss Myrtle and she claims to be Bibi’s fairy godmother. Bibi is sceptical – she hates fairy stories with their stupid princesses. Nor does she believe that Miss Myrtle can grant her a wish, though she does admit that what she wants more than anything is a permanent home for her and her mum. She accepts the old lady’s challenge to go into the world of fairy stories though and complete seven quests. The worlds she discovers are wonderfully varied, with giants, wizards, unicorns and more, and each quest completed helps someone in trouble or solves a problem.

Bibi returns with the keys needed to open the mysterious box in the attic and finds that dreams really can come true. The fairy stories are full of everything that makes them so satisfying and the frame to the story is both contemporary and moving.

With beautiful full colour illustrations throughout, this is a story collection to treasure.
