Lucky Sunil – his next-door neighbour Alex is a (somewhat eccentric) inventor and has a time-travel machine in her downstairs loo. She lets Sunil use it to nip back to the 1960s to pick up a replacement copy of Bad Moon Rising before his mum realises he’s broken this precious record, and inadvertently ends up meeting Neill Armstrong no less!
His next journey back in time is even more extraordinary when he ends up with Ernest Shackleton and his crew in the South Pole. Time-travelling with Sunil is great fun and eye-opening too as author Iszi Lawrence includes lots of fascinating footnotes and historical facts.
This is the first in a new series and I’m looking forward to finding out where Sunil will travel next.
