Tiny emerges one summer morning from a sunflower growing in a school garden, a little creature who resembles a human child in every way but her size. Her welcome from the other residents of the garden, led by the birds, is far from friendly. They accuse her of being human and argue that she doesn’t belong.
She may be small, but Tiny is also brave and kind. She refuses to be bullied out and wins the other animals over when she saves Frog. Children love miniature worlds and Tiny’s eye-view is very appealing while her determination to stand up for herself and others against the birds gives the story added depth.
Küra Teber’s illustrations are of Tiny’s world are charming too. There will be more adventures to come for Tiny and they’re well worth looking out for.
