These Tales take place in a zoo after dark when all the animals are safely locked up for the night except that is for an elephant, a zebra, a giraffe and a very mischievous monkey. The animals arrange to meet after the zoo keepers have finished their nightly rounds. Each has their own way of escaping, they meet up and decide what to do. It is usually the monkey that takes charge.
The zoo lies between the town and the castle ruins on the hill. Their first adventure takes them to the children's playground where their fun ends up with a soaking. Next they visit the High Street and sample the delights of the Fast Food shops. The following Tale takes them to the castle ruins where they nearly get stranded by the dodgy drawbridge. In the fourth Tale they visit other parts of the zoo and meet some not so friendly animals. Finally they have a night in the snow near the castle and guess who gets into trouble there!
