Told in glorious rhyme and blazing with colour and character, Doctorsaurus is a dream of a picture book for fun-loving, dino-loving toddlers (which must be just about all of them). Emi-Lou May has created a story that’s perfect for reading aloud - preferably in funny dinosaur voices - while Leire Martin’s illustrations dance with dynamism.
When a bunch of boundlessly energetic prehistoric pals get together to picnic and play, it’s to be expected that a few mishaps will take place. First up, Triceratops forgets to look where he’s going, crashes into a tree, and breaks his horn in three. Next Stegosaurus gets a splinter stuck in his pinkie, while T-Rex develops an allergic reaction. Saving the silliest for last, poor Brontosaurus feels big and bloated, and “just can’t do a poo!” Thankfully Doctorsaurus is on hand to help everyone back to health, with her solving of Brontosaurus’ problem having the added bonus of providing tea for fifty dancing dung beetles!
Thumping head? Tummy ache? Nose all sore and sniffy? Then call for Doctorsaurus and she'll fix you in a jiffy! Triceratops has hurt his horn and T-Rex's nose is all blocked and snotty.
Join Doctorsaurus as she races to the rescue and helps the poorly dinosaurs feel better. But when Brontosaurus has a tummy ache, the dinosaurs get a little more than they bargained for! This light-hearted, poop-tastic and enjoyable story is the perfect tonic for all poorly toddlers.
Emi-Lou May lives in a boys' boarding school near Oxford, England, with a husband, four children, 65 teenaged boys and a host of lively pets. Emi-Lou previously worked in film and radio and has always loved the art of storytelling in any and every format. Doctorsaurus is her debut picture book. Leire Martin is an illustrator from San Sebastian in Spain. She has a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts and a CGI Master. She worked as a 3D artist for 3 years, but drawing has always been her passion so she decided to leave it all and become a professional illustrator.
