March 2018 Book of the Month | Little Juniper Jupiter is a wonderfully bold heroine and her adventure is a real celebration of play and the imagination. Juniper is a super-hero – super-kind, super-brave and, of course, super-super-smart. But she’s missing a sidekick and as everyone knows, all super-heroes need a sidekick. Bright, vivid pages illustrate the audition process as she sets out to recruit the perfect companion and there’s a happy twist in the tale as she finds one surprisingly close to home. In her red cape, hair held up with pom-pom bobbles, Juniper is a whirlwind of dynamism and determination; the illustrations are full of detail and energy and this is a book to delight and invigorate all readers.
Juniper Jupiter is a real life superhero. It's no big deal. She's super brave, super fast, super strong, super smart and she can even fly, but something is missing. What is a hero without an amazing sidekick? It turns out that lots of people want to be a superhero's sidekick, but none of them are quite right. They're too big, too scratchy, too weird, too scared, or WAY too prepared... will Juniper ever find the perfect one?
This is a fun and feisty story about friendship and learning to value what you already have from the winner of the 2017 Waterstones Children's Book Prize, Illustrated Book Category for There's a Tiger in the Garden.
