A delightful picture story book in which a rainbow causes untold damage to the rainforest because of his greed for colour, but eventually the animals of the forest persuade him to mend his ways, but perhaps not exactly as was planned. The pleasure of sharing, so important to instill in a young child, is brilliantly portrayed in this story both through the words and the pictures.
When Monkey finds a tiny rainbow hooked onto the tallest branch of the tallest tree, all he can think about is showing his rainforest friends. But what Monkey doesn't realise is that everything the rainbow touches, loses its colour! The rainforest looks dull and grey, and makes all of the animals feel very sad. If only it hadn't been so selfish . Seeing all of the animals so heartbroken, the Greedy Rainbow decides to give back all of the colour it stole. Only...perhaps not their original colours.
SUSAN CHANDLER was born in Southampton and moved to London to to attend the Central School of Speech and Drama. She has written many children's books, including Vegetable Glue, Ingenious Jean, Who's in the Zoo and illustrates for The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. SANJA RESCEK has illustrated many boks for children including the successful My Little Box of Bedtime Rhymes.
