I enjoyed the positive message in this short, poetic book. With stress and anxiety levels in the world these days increasing to unacceptable levels, even children are being affected. The book aims to encourage children to be proactive in managing their well-being. The book shows them how to take a few minutes to focus on returning to a peaceful state. They are encouraged to relax, focus and breathe by a young girl called, Earth, and her puppy, Sesame. The pictures are calming, using mostly neutral and muted tones and the colours of nature. The text is white, which is a nice change from the usual black text found in most books. Some of the lines rhyme, which adds to the calming flow of the words. I recommend it for children from age 4 or 5. Even adults can benefit by doing the exercises with children. Everyone can take a few minutes to focus and mindfully push worries away by intentionally breathing. We can all include this technique in our daily routine. A bonus is that a percentage of the profits from the sales of the book are donated to causes that help communities and the planet.
