A story of new friends, facing your fears and overcoming prejudice. Written in a simplistic and to-the-point style, 'The Adventures of Bear and Unicorn' by Sparkles Johnson & Sunshine Akbas follows Unicorn as she is determined to have an adventure, unfortunately she gets stuck and must rely on Bear to help her. The pair quickly become firm friends and Unicorn has other opportunities to face her fears, with her new friend's support. This is a very quick read, written in almost a childlike style, which might not be to everyone's taste but could make it more accessible to young readers. The highlight of this book for me were the images, I liked the cartoon-y, comic book style and the bright colours.
