While she iseventually arrested by Gestapo, imprisoned, and tortured for her actions, sherefuses to reveal her network and is condemned to death. She is ultimately savedfrom death by other members of herorganization.

This second volume focuses onIrena's activities following her incarceration, and her years long mission tolocate and reunite the rescued children with their families, which led decadeslater to her ultimate recognition.
