Jam-packed with action and details to find and spot, Where Is Your Sister? is a strikingly confident debut from Puck Koper. Her blue, red and black artwork is printed in eye-catching pantone inks, and her remarkable eye for composition and funny characters marks her out as a talent to watch. Using a limited palette, Dutch artist Puck Koper creates a frantic dash through a department store which is both a search and find story, and an accurately observed and very funny family adventure.
The Klaus Flugge judges said: ‘goes at a wonderful pace, with laugh out loud moments. It’s stylish and feels very sophisticated for a first book’.
The store is a riot of dots and stripes, patterns and checks, so it's not easy to find one little girl in a spotty dress. Children will love finding Harriet on every page as the madcap chase moves from the fashion floor to home furnishings and into the toy department. More and more people join in until at last naughty Harriet is reunited with her family.
Puck Koper is an illustrator from Rotterdam in the Netherlands. She graduated from Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam with a BA in Illustration in 2012, and in 2017 she gained a distinction in her MA in Children’s Book illustration from Cambridge School of Art. Puck loves drinking tea, ice skating on frozen lakes, cycling and dancing. If she could wish for one thing it would be to have a dog to keep her company in her studio. Puck lives in Rotterdam on the most Dutch street you can imagine, complete with sailing boats, drawbridges and a windmill. Where Is Your Sister? is Puck's debut picture book.
