Shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal 2014 - June 2013 Book of the Month - Shortlisted for the 2013 Scottish Children’s Book Award
Best-selling Julia Donaldson’s light footed text captures the magical creation of a chain of paper dolls and all the imaginative games they can play. Dancing, flying, jumping, the five paper dolls joined together by holding hands, escape from the jaws of a crocodile, ride on a bus, lie on the rooftops to look at the stars and much, much more in the hands of the little girl who made them. When disaster strikes, the memory of their happy days remain and is handed down to another little girl many years later. Rebecca Cobb’s illustrations capture the magic perfectly.
