Benji Davies’s The Storm Whale is one of the most beautiful and affecting children’s books of the decade and this novelty book plus puzzle blocks is carefully thought out and designed to emphasise the beauty of his artwork and the theme of the story. It contains a small hardback version of the book and nine little blocks which can be rearranged to tell the story. It will be fun and satisfying for children to build up the contrasting scenes from the book, and the artwork even in miniature is stunning. A lovely thing to pop into a stocking or under the tree and the pleasure this gives will last well beyond the festive season. ~ Andrea Reece
