LoveReading4Kids Says
First there was Mia Thermopolis, Manhattan teenager one minute, Princess of Genovia the next; now it’s the turn of average middle-school student Olivia Grace to be transformed into royalty. Meg Cabot has revised the plot of her much-loved Princess Diaries series with a younger central character for a new generation of younger readers - and they will adore it! Olivia is very much a Cinderella type, living with a rather heartless step family, and pushed around at school, particularly by Queen Bee Annabelle – what a come-uppance they get when it suddenly emerges that Olivia’s missing father is a prince! It’s the most satisfying plot of all and with her warmth and wit, Cabot makes it really special. ~ Andrea Reece

Notebooks of a Middle -School Princess Synopsis
Notebooks of a Middle-School Princess is the first in a funny, heart-warming illustrated Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot.
Olivia Grace is completely average. Or so she thinks ...until Her Royal Highness, Princess Mia Thermopolis turns up at her school one day and whisks Olivia away to New York City! In a limo, no less! Where you can eat all the cookies you want and the ceiling lights up pink and purple - like a disco! But discovering that your father is actually the Prince of Genovia is quite a shock. Especially since it means you're a descendent of the Kingdom of Genovia, and a princess. Olivia's got a lot to learn about her long-lost family - and everyone's got a lot to learn about her! Olivia chronicles her transformation from ordinary girl to princess in her notebook, with illustrations from author Meg Cabot, who studied Fine Arts as an undergraduate.

Meg Cabot Press Reviews
Cabot is as fresh and funny as ever The Bookseller
The nation of Genovia gains a new resident in this amusing spin-off of Cabot's Princess Diaries series: self-effacing, biracial Olivia, a 12-year-old aspiring wildlife artist who discovers that she is the half-sister of Princess Mia Thermopolis. ...Text-message exchanges and Cabot's own b&w cartoons further enliven Olivia's entertaining and candid notebook entries, which will have readers looking forward to her future escapades. Publisher's Weekly
Olivia, who's biracial, is a lively, engaging character whose peppy, often-wry diary-style narrative details her experiences and progressive discoveries about her background, royal life, and the true meaning of family. Interspersing Cabot's black-and-white illustrations, Olivia's texts with BFF Nishi, and contemporary pop-culture references, this entertaining, quickly absorbing read will have readers anticipating the sequel. About Meg Cabot
Meg Cabot is the author of The Princess Diaries series as well as several other novels for teenagers. Her books have sold millions of copies round the world - and two million in the UK alone.
Cabot was born in Bloomington, Indiana, to college professor C. Victor and Barbara Cabot. In 1991, Cabot received a B.A. from Indiana University.
Meg Cabot married financial writer and poet Benjamin D. Egnatz on April 1, 1993. Her novel Every Boy's Got One is loosely based on her own elopement.
Before she published her first book, Meg worked as an assistant dorm manager at New York University. After living in Indiana, California, New York, and France, she now currently resides in Key West, Florida. with her husband and one-eyed cat, Henrietta.
In May 2006, the Harvard Crimson released reports that 19-year-old author Kaavya Viswanathan borrowed passages from Cabot's Princess Diaries series, and other books, to place in her novel How Opal Mehta Got Kissed, Got Wild, and Got a Life. Viswanathan's novels were subsequently pulled from the shelves.
Cabot has also written many books for teens, including The Princess Diaries series, which has won many awards, and her recently completed series, The Mediator.
