LoveReading4Kids Says
Deeply romantic, this is a moving love story that will leave readers thinking afresh about being different. Amy is clearly different; wheelchair bound and speaking though a computer she fights hard to be fully integrated with her high school peers. Her plan is that peer helpers should replace adult carers, partly so that she can make friends her own age. The person she most wants to help her is Matthew. She knows that he too has problems but will Matthew want to become her friend? Amy and Matthew each tell their story poignantly.

About
Amy and Matthew Synopsis
Amy is unflinchingly honest about her limitations. Born with cerebral palsy, she can't walk or talk without help. But trapped inside this uncooperative body lies a brilliant mind and a luminous spirit - a girl capable of truly loving and worthy of being loved in return.
Matthew has his own set of challenges - a mind consumed by unwanted repeated thoughts, obsessive rituals and a crippling fear that he can't explain. But underneath all of the anxiety lies a deep seed of hope for someone to come along who believes in him...
This is the story of Amy and Matthew. It may not be a fairy tale romance or set in an imagined world far from our own. But the love they share is real. And yes, there's magic in it.

An engaging and honest story of troubled young people and first love. -- Marilyn Brocklehurst The Bookseller
If you enjoyed Eleanor and Park, The Fault in Our Stars and The Perks of Being a Wallflower then I couldn't recommend this book to you more. It certainly deserves the same recognition which is not something I say lightly with the books mentioned above being a few of my favourites. Amy and Matthew are certain to open reader's eyes to the world of both physical and mental illness and work their way into reader's hearts with their beautifully broken love story. jessheartsbooks.blogspot.co.uk
One of the first things I liked about this book was the cover, as a result out of all the books I've been sent recently to look at I thought I'd read this one first... I also felt that Amy's cerebral palsy was dealt with magnificently and I really felt like I have more of an insight into people who have it, something which I think is very important to teach. I think it's very important to encourage young adults to read books which tackle unusual relationships and teach you that although everyone is different, ultimately people are all the same. That it's not necessarily those people who you think have the biggest problems in life are the ones that do... I'd suggest that this is a perfect read for young adults and anyone above that age who enjoys a bit of teen romance. It's opened my eyes to a whole new genre of books. Thank you Cammie McGovern. beingamummy.co.uk
This book felt really real. It brought out emotions I never thought I could feel. That little pain in your chest when something is just so emotional literally happened every other page. It's just an all around epic love story not about the generic hot guy and non popular girl in school, this is so much better. A warm, magnificent and delicate love story that will break your heart and stitch it back together again. dark-readers.com
