With the nation – young and old alike – once again glued to Bake Off, the timing of this is perfect. We all regard last year’s winner Nadiya Hussain as a personal friend, and the chance to share some of her favourite recipes feels like a real treat. There are lots of recipes included, for sweet and savoury goodies, and children will love helping to make them. What’s more, it’s full too of favourite stories, retold by Nadiya with a thoroughly modern twist, and in a very lively voice. Sweet illustrations by Clair Rossiter and photographs – of the food of course, but of Nadiya and her three children too – make it look delicious. Nadiya said;  “I bake with my children and I grew up with parents who are big cooks. My Dad always said that kids shouldn’t be scared of the kitchen. We forget that it’s a life skill, to be able to go into the kitchen and make something to eat.”
