How long until Steve Antony is awarded a Royal Warrant and becomes Illustrator By Appointment? The Queen is centre stage in this companion piece to The Queen’s Hat and leads us all on a non-stop tour of Great Britain chasing a cheeky swan who’s stolen her handbag. Her Majesty uses a variety of vehicles in pursuit, including an Aston Martin, one of the Red Arrows and a speedboat, and we see her speeding past Edinburgh Castle, the Giant’s Causeway, The Angel of the North and Snowdonia before she catches the thief at the finishing line of the London Marathon. There is lots to catch the eye and entertain in every spread – can you spot the corgi? Where are the policemen taking a selfie? – while the palette - limited to red, white and blue - is perfect!

The Queen's Handbag Synopsis
With a Jon Klassen appeal, Steve Antony is the one to watch. A naughty swan steals the Queen's handbag, so naturally, the Queen races after it. She follows it all around the United Kingdom in various modes of transport, including an Aston Martin car, a motorbike, a Red Arrow plane, a speedboat, a train and a horse. Taking in sights such as Stonehenge, Snowdonia, Giants Causeway, Edinburgh Castle, Oxford and then arriving back in London, this chase includes the Queen's butler and an awful lot of policemen. A witty and stylish celebration of the United Kingdom and the Queen.

About Steve Antony
Steve Antony is a highly talented and versatile author-illustrator. He has had a passion for storytelling from an early age, but it was the MA in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge that really enabled him to channel this passion. Since embarking on the MA course, he has enjoyed creating picture books on a range of subjects from the Queen's hat to a war between rectangles and lizards! He aims to create picture books that are slightly 'off the wall', books that children will laugh at and adults will tweet about, but most of all, books that he enjoys.
Since his 2014 debut, multi award-winning author-illustrator Steve Antony has so far written and illustrated 18 picture books and sold over one million copies worldwide, and 7 of his titles have been nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal.
His Mr Panda series has sold over 700,000 copies worldwide and was recently optioned for TV by Magic Light Pictures. His highly acclaimed The Queen's Hat (the first instalment of the Queen Collection) was adapted into a musical concert by the London Symphony Orchestra and won the Evening Standard's Oscars Book Prize. His Queen's Hat inspired Shaun the Sheep statue raised £15,000 for the Wallace and Gromit Children's Charity.
He plays an active role in his local community as Patron to Swindon Libraries Children's Services and recently designed their library card. He is an Ambassador for The National Literacy Trust , an active supporter of Beanstalk and a vocal advocate for more incidental inclusiveness in children's literature, having written several articles on the subject. Through his art, Steve has helped raise thousands for various UK charities including My AFK, BookTrust, Willow Foundation and Wallace and Gromit Children's Charity.
Steve's studied at Anglia Ruskin University after taking voluntary redundancy from a Swindon call centre. Steve was part-raised in New Mexico and now lives in Swindon UK with his husband and cat.
