My own favourite is the fisherman grandad, who ‘tells salty tales of sea monsters and mermaids, megalodons and whales’. They get a lively double page each, and the jolly, youthful grandad who narrates the story reminds us too that whatever lives they live, you can always count on grandads ‘for the love they have to give’.
As you can gather, the text is in rhyme and a treat to read aloud, while there’s so much going on in the pictures that it will be rewarding to read over and over. A really lovely book for grandparents and littles ones to share.

Ben Faulks is a British actor, presenter and children's author. He is best known for co-creating the CBeebies television series Mr Bloom's Nursery. Born in Cornwall, he earned an acting degree at Bretton Hall School of Dance & Drama and has written numerous shows for theatre. He is now based in Yorkshire.
