gal-dem are a vibrant online-print magazine and collective, with award-winning content written and produced by women and non-binary people of colour. Launched by Liv Little in 2015, their aim is to open up their take on the world to a wider audience, addressing inequality and misrepresentation; revolutionising the publishing industry. As well as their magazine, gal-dem hosts comedy nights, political panels, film festivals and museum takeovers, and have interviewed international stars including Oprah Winfrey, Mel B, Amandla Stenberg, and Angie Thomas. gal-dem have collaborated with many brands from a Guardian Weekend Magazine takeover, to producing the Michelle Obama x Penguin pop-up bookstore which outsold Waterstones flagship store by 16% over the 5 day period they were running.
