An exuberant book that invites all readers to join in too! All the animals have different ways of saying Hello! The Chicken hello is flappy and clucky, the Frog hello is jumpy and croaky, the Beetle hello is tiny and tappy, the Donkey hello is a noisy Hee Haw! And when they all shout out Hello altogether it makes a very loud noise. Young readers can make it louder still by all shouting out hello too!
Exploring the different kinds of ways animals say hello, this joyful companion to Mary Murphy's A Kiss Like This is an ideal read-aloud for babies and toddlers.
Dogs say it loud - Bow-wow! Cats say it proud - Meow! And donkeys say it silly - Hee-haw! Using a clever split-page format that makes for funny and very noisy surprises, and with a glittery finale spread, Mary Murphy is sure to have those just learning to speak gurgling, giggling, clapping hands and making fun animal sounds, too!
As a child, Mary Murphy was a constant reader. Her favourite books included Mary Poppins, Peter Pan and Tom’s Midnight Garden. She also loved any stories about animals. Mary was the third of six children.
Mary lives in Galway, Ireland, and describes herself as "fairly outdoorish, but not sporty". She loves walking, swimming, reading and cycling. Mary studied Illustration and Design in Dublin before freelancing as an illustrator. She has always written for pleasure, and soon began developing ideas for children’s books following the antics of characters she had already visualised. A technique she sometimes uses is to draw the character in different situations, and then see what follows on from there.
