Power of Five
The long-awaited graphic-novel adaptation of the No. 1 bestseller Raven's Gate, from the creator of Alex Rider, Anthony Horowitz. A sinister and incredibly atmospheric story of the supernatural; first of five in the Power of Five series. Matt has always known he has unusual powers. Raised in foster care, he is sent to Yorkshire on a rehabilitation programme, only to find himself in the midst of sinister goings-on. Matt investigates and uncovers a terrible secret - eight guardians are protecting the world from the evil ones, beings banished long ago by five children. But devil worshippers want to let the evil ones back in. As the story reaches its climax, it looks like Matt has succeeded in stopping them...or has he? Let’s hope we don’t have to wait as long for the second graphic novel in the series. Fans of Horowitz will enjoy re-reading the novel in graphic novel form but it’s also worth coaxing reluctant readers to the graphic novel version as well. Very accessible and full of imagery.
In addition to our Lovereading expert opinion for Raven's Gate a small number of our readers were lucky enough to be invited to review the original edition of this title. Here's a taster....'Raven’s Gate is the best novel I have read for a while. Antony Horowitz takes you on an adventurous journey, transporting you to another world of darkness and mystery'.
