What's Inside? Synopsis

An informative, pop-up book full of surprises, perfect for engaging young nature fans.

Explore the tunnels of a termite mound, the inside of a beaver lodge, a beehive on the roof of a skyscraper, and much more. Embark on a journey of discovery around the world to see what other incredible animal homes are waiting to be uncovered as you turn each page to reveal beautiful, intricate pop-up scenes and lift the flaps and pull the tabs to reveal even more.

A beautiful gift book that combines captivating illustrations with compelling information and a wonderful companion to What's Above? and What's Below?

Miranda Smith has written and edited information books and articles for children and adults on a variety of subjects. Like the children she writes for, she likes to explore and find out about new things. Recently, she has visited Peru's Macchu Picchu and jumped out of an aeroplane, and is currently deciding how to relate these to her writing and what to do next!

Kate McLelland grew up in the North East of England before moving to London to gain a BA Hons in Theatre Design. After completing her degree in London she moved to Edinburgh, where she recently gained an MFA in Illustration with Distinction at Edinburgh College of Art. She received highly commended in the MacMillan Prize and in recent years was nominated for a D&AD Illustration award and a Penguin Design Award.
