Containing three related short stories with the theme of a dinosaur packed day - dinosaurs in the museum, in the soup (!) and cooking with dad. The book is aimed at first readers and those children who are beginning to want to read longer stories than those in most picture books. There is only a small amount of text per page accompanied by speech bubbles for shared reading and brightly coloured illustrations which help support the child’s understanding of the text. Dinosaur Disasters is part of the Banana Books reading series – quality stories for young readers – which in turn is divided into Green, Blue and Red Bananas. Green Bananas, like this one are for first readers, generally from 3-5 years, Blue Bananas are for developing readers (age 5+) and Red Bananas are for newly fluent readers (age 6+). Every one of them is written and illustrated by well established authors and artists.

Sam and his little sister Rosa are having a dinosaur day with Dad. They
see the dinosaur eggs at the museum, colour in some dinosaur pictures
and make dinosaur biscuits. It's a lot of fun, but somehow there's
always a dinosaur disaster just waiting to happen.
‘I love Bananas! They’re just right for the very young. They take children on adventures into life, into the imagination and into reading for pleasure’ - Wendy Cooling, creator of Bookstart
